Any ideas? Placing the spare under the bed works, but it hangs too low for me. Perhaps tossing the spare and just carrying a couple of cans of flat repair might work?

I would carry the fix a flat and keep good tires on it.Proper tire care should keep you from having too many problems.Keep the cell phone charged and triple A paid.

Not to get off topic but can I get more pics of your truck....interested in the drop, and tire/wheel sizes...wanna go with the Torque Thrust wheels on mine...Oh I still have my spare to so if I dump mine I might have to relocate too.

Ever thought of mounting it inside the bed? If it's a show truck then save some coin and buy another TTII and mount it in the bed if you don't use it for hauling or any sort of work.

Edit: Just had to chime back in and say I'm in love with your truck. Do you have any hi-res pictures I could use as a desktop background?

I was about to put a spare under my truck but after seeing your pict that idea is out. I never had a spare but now I got a set of rally wheels with tires and all so I put one inside the bed for just in case specially if I am going out of town.

I think I'll be getting some cans of fix-a-flat and carry them around. I wanted to avoid putting a tire in the bed. The truck will be my driver so I just didn't want it lying in the bed for someone to take.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I put a bed cover on mine and you cant see whats in there not that it is theft proof but chances are that no one will look under it.The cover is low enough that it is almost un noticeable...

What about an oem space saver spare that many late model cars carry? I'm sure you can find one in the correct lug pattern. Just make sure it clears your brakes and will bolt up properly.

Yeah, get one from a late model full-size Caprice and it will be right bolt pattern and function well enough to keep one corner off of the dirt.

Yes,I have A narrow spare "75 series" tire with a stock 6' rim under the bed,as long it's clean it looks okay I think. I'm looking for a photo without luck.

Crasten123: You could always do the spare in the bed and attach the wheel to the mounting bracket then put a chain around it. Or if you really wanted to get creative make a mounting bracket with a plate that has lugs welded to it. Then buy some lock nuts and put those on the lugs.

Did you guy's have to modify the spare tire carrier? I wasn't sure if the bolts would hang to low to accomodate the lowered stance.

Crasten123, do you mind if I ask where you picked those TTII's up? And what ,if you're comfortable with saying, a ballpark price on them would be? I'm looking to pick a set up. They always look right and your truck is NO exception. So add me to the group that says, "That's a nice truck!"

Oh...almost forgot to ask, is it that you find the spare aesthetically unpleasing hanging down like that or do you think it might be a ground clearance issue? To me it really doesn't look like it would be any clearance issue unless you were backing up into something and at that point if it doesn't just hit the tire it could hit the bumper first.
