How do I two tone with shaved drip rails
So I have a problem I need suggestions on. I have shaved my drip rails and have used a piece of 1/4 round. Body work is done and in primer. I have been drilling holes for moulding before paint and now I'm not sure how to go about separating the colors from the cab and roof. I could still use the trim on the cab but it originally tucked behind the drip rail now it will stand open on the end an look bad.. Any suggestions? I guess I could just do a solid color but I like the two tones

Re: How do I two tone with shaved drip rails
Might try working the end down to a rounded or spear tip. Or even a flat roll then blending to shape. If there is not enough metal to do that consider buying the bulk trim from a trimmer that uses it for vinyl top work. It clips on the same way and is soft aluminum. A painted pinstripe would work to separate but you have holes already correct?
Edit This is the problem as I read it.

Yes SS trim.. That's what I'm talking about.. Where can I find those ends your referring to. I'm interested to take a look. There are no pegs or holes btw.. I just wasn't sure a painted stripe would "flow" with all the other trim on the truck

Re: How do I two tone with shaved drip rails
Was thinking you could work down the existing end of the molding. Or like I said source some new aluminum trim stock and work that, it could even be one piece with work and care. A painted stripe would be a simple break but as you point out flat and without depth. Another solution might be to use a finer than stock profile adhesive molding. These used to be so easy to get, now I am not so sure. An autobody/paint supply would be my first stop to look at samples or maybe online.
As an example of a fine adhesive molding here are some intended for wheel wells. Might try for some samples to play with. http://www.customautotrim.com/produc.../wheelwell.htm
