72 k20
Put down a few bucks a couple weeks ago for the owner ( a member here) to hold on to this one for me. Going to pick it up Saturday... Planning to do a mostly factory restoration.
Pretty decent list of options. I'm itching to get started if I ever get time away from work I'll be in good shape!

Re: 72 k/20
I was contemplating parting this one out and using the 4x4 parts for the build on my 2x4 Cheyenne but I'm not gonna do that this one is to cool to me to sign the organ donor card.

Re: 72 k/20
Jocko I had a feeling you'd chime in on this one! If you recall a week or two back I was inquiring about pics with the 557 code. Now you know why... I agree that GMC is great inspiration. Hope mine looks that good someday soon.

Ha, I shoulda KNOWN something was up! Congrats, that will be a VERY nice truck. Here's another - 72BlueC20 posted in the 558 thread. 70CST has a gorgeous one in the 557 combo also, I think!

I'm beginning to wish the one I'm picking up was a four eye. Those are certainly some beautiful pieces of sheet metal!

Re: 72 k/20
Well the eagle has landed! Had long fun day of driving with my father in law and brother in law up to Kevin's place (undertaker72). Had fun bsing around and learning a few new things for an hour or so before we got her loaded back up and on the road again. 700ish miles round trip in one day. If any one is wondering a longbed 4x4 fits on the uhaul trailer exactly with nothing to spare! Thanks for deal Kevin your a class act!

Re: 72 k/20
Haha Ya you gotta watch those rangers... They can get kinda heavy and can shape shift on you haha. Was definitely one of the more fun days I've had in a while. Thanks guys I'll post some more pics up after the race in phoenix is over.
Mechanicalman it's funny you mention the longhorn because on the uhaul website it says that up to a 133" wheel base will fit. That's a bunch of crap haha!

Re: 72 k/20
Here are some more promised pics. After the race was over(might I add my 4 won the race!!!) I managed to pull the seat to clean out the 1000 lbs of mud and dirt on the floor, and to search for the illusive build sheet. I also wanted to get a better look at the rust in the floors. Kevin told me he thought it might need a full floor and I agree. Here's so pics of the progress. I should have taken some of under the cab but didn't. I guess from here on out this is my reincarnated ranch truck build thread. I had to start it off by getting the bosses approval haha she's small but already wants to drive!
The last one is where the bed got pretty friendly with the cab at some point in the past... Nothing a slide hammer, welder, hammer & dolly won't fix... I really should have taken pics of the 2 trash bags of sh... That came out of it, along with the 2 huge piles of dirt on both sides. Unfortunately no build sheet... I was wondering if anyone knows of a complete high hump repop floor? All the parts catalogs I've got (5-6 different companies) only have the low hump. I realize I may have to cut the low hump out but of they sell a high hump I'd rather do that. I'm on the road all week so I won't be back home to get anything done till probably Saturday night.

Re: 72 k/20
tyler, like nitus stated I think just floor patch panels will go ok , you can buy different confg. or cut from doner , that way you still have the original sub structor

Re: 72 k/20
The high hump cover itself is fine I was referring to the floor with cutout already in it. But ya I can definitely Cut the center section out of the repop floor. My pops and I put a new high hump floor in his k/20 but that was a few years ago now and I can't seem to find them. I want to use the repop floor because obviously the supports and braces are already welded in and they all need replaced on the floor I've got. I'll have to do some lower firewall patching as well but I'll deal with that without buying a fire wall. Kevin how's the lower fire wall sections that butt up to the main floor on that truck you chopped up for patches?
