Welding/Fab Tables

Let's see those workspaces. Here's my table. Searching CL one day I came across a fab shop closing down. They had 3 tables for sale and this was the medium one. It's a 6x10 with 1/2' plate top. It did not start out how it is now. I had to cut it down 4" and add inner structure under the plate top and adjustable feet. Also added everything you see attached. It now has air and power on the table. Also has a bottom shelf for grinders and stuff. Also got my wilton c-2 mounted and plenty of room for clamps. Got this table for $700 and sold my 4x8 for $500. Just looking for ideas on what others have done.

Great thread idea. Holy cow that is a nice table! Can you show some detail on how the air tools are hanging?

I got a HF folding table for $49 on an open-box special. Does that count?

Re: Welding/Fab Tables

Chizzler, that is a sweet table! I don't have anything that fancy. I'd like to build a 3'x4' one for my garage but I have to wait to do it.

Re: Welding/Fab Tables

I had to give up $25 for mine. another sign shop closed up and no one else wanted it because it was so heavy. its 4x10 and on heavy duty wheels but only has 1/4" top. I mostly use it for welding aluminum so it works out good.

You're making me cry (laughing). Mine's a small rack door mounted on a Shopmate. I need to get an image hosting account so I can post pics.

So says the guy with the biggest table.

I want to get a CertiFlat 2X4 table eventually because I don't have a lot of extra shop space. But my HF table was a nice upgrade from my previous table, which was a 6X12 piece of 1/4 inch steel with a leg welded on it so I could mount it in my vise - that's 6X12 inches.

I picked up the idea for mounting the air tools. Currently mine are piled all over the table and I've been looking for a better way. Yeah, maybe I live under a rock....

Here is how a buddy stores his.

Here's my table. Built about 18 years ago. It stays outside when not in use. I had to put new casters on it last week do to it throwing some tread.

Re: Welding/Fab Tables

Miller ArcStation I lucked out and found a deal on craigslist. I added the weld curtain, but it came with all the small attachments for hanging tools on the sides. I'm still trying to get my shop situated, everything is just kinda piled against the wall right now.

You guys have some really nice stuff - I look forward to stealing some ideas

After I read your comment about Certiflat truckster, I started researching their product. It looks like a really good idea.

Does anyone here have one? Or opinions on their tables?

This might be for me since I never smile when welding.

Re: Welding/Fab Tables

Ugh you guys have me so jealous right now. Been looking for the right piece of property and don't have much permanent space to put all my fun heavy stuff like a new fab table, bandsaw, chop saw etc.

Drooling until then.

Re: Welding/Fab Tables

Here's my table. Its heavy as hell...my 45 hp diesel tractor won't touch it.

The top is 1" thick, and drilled and tapped for fixturing.
