1 ton wheel question
Are all 1 ton wheels basically the same back-space wise? I found some that are on a mid 80's Ford F350 to replace the split rims on my 69 C30. (both are the 16 inch variety)
I know the lug holes are bigger but is there anything else to watch for such as back space? By the way, one wheel on my wrecker is a non split wheel and it has the 1/2 inch lug holes. What might this be from? I thought the non splits came a year or two later and with the 9/16 lug holes? Thanks, Bob

I've got a Dana 70 out of a Ford in my ramp truck and it has a Ford rims on the back and Chevy rims on the front and they have the same backspacing. I have 16" Dodge dually wheels on my '67 C-30, and they are the same. I don't know if they're all always the same, but they seem to pretty universal in my experience. The center hole and lug holes change manufacturer to manufacturer.

80's Frod and GM dually wheels are different when it comes to lug layout, one's measured from the center of the stud and the other from a different point, my dad figured this out because his Chevy kept gettin vibrations with the Frod wheels on it.
Backspacing, I don't know, it ain't hard to check though! :P |
