Re: 65Custom Build Thread

Totally inspirational, I even made my wife look at more than a few of your pics!!
I want to do the one piece window with the wing omit too.
About them rattling half way up or down, I think I would install the felt guides that the cars of this era came with. I replaced the driver side glass on my wifes 72 LeMans convertible, and had to adjust these guides so the glass would seat properly with the top up. Their function was obvious.

I love threads like this, I learn so much from reading them!!
PM sent for the cab corners too.
Thanks !!

Re: 65Custom Build Thread

nothing on my project but i pulled this from under my daily driver

Picked it up as I was entering the highway one day didn't know it was there I stopped and looked when it happened but never saw anything when i looked but I kept smelling plastic when I would get out of the truck

obviously I should have crawled under and looked, but i have had the oil changed since it happened and no one ever said anything

Re: 65Custom Build Thread

Don't remember if i have, but man that is mess I had a hard time just cleaning a little plastic I cant even imagine trying get that off or what that was like to drive after wards

I can tell a difference in mine after I removed it is so slight I had no idea it was there

What really burns me is the idiot that left it loose in the back of his truck to fly out on to the highway I never saw it come off the truck as it happened as I was getting up to speed entering the highway had no time to avoid it

Re: 65Custom Build Thread

Just thought I would post and update, been doing a mental work on mine lately.

I think that is harder than actually working on it

I've been thinking about getting Porterbuilt A-arms and trailing arms to move wheels to get the right look I want, along with increasing with wheel base I think will help the ride and handling, since I'm going to be using a LS motor I think moving the motor back as far as possible will help with weight distribution these trucks are front heavy and getting it closer to the 50 50 weight distribution should help all around.

I need to go take a rest now, all this mental work is really tiring!

Re: 65Custom Build Thread

I know what you mean about mental work. I don't know what I will do when the truck is done. I'll probably be thinking of what I can make better.
