How to install seat buttons?

My new seat covers have arrived for my 1980 non-folding seat. Looks great but does anyone know how to install the seat buttons?

My old seat was a different pattern with no seat buttons and it was unavailable (see pics). I like the style I bought, even though they are not absolutely correct for the year.

My truck is a 1980 disguised as a 1973 and has a later bed, so it's a bitsa as they say.
