Whats it worth?

I am just interested in the value of a 1978 Bonanza with 34,500 original miles . Short bed fleetside ,350/350 combo , tilt , A/C blows cold , supposed to be zero rust and no body damage ever . Has all side trim and is factory black with red interior. Rally wheels with fresh rubber . Basically the way N2TRUX Cheyenne looked when he bought it but unrestored . Thanks , Frank

Re: Whats it worth?

Where is it so I can go get it Sounds like a great deal. I bought mine for $2500 with about the same setup bit LWB, non cold ac and alot more miles. I bet it would sell for $3500+ if in good enough shape like you mentioned.

Re: Whats it worth?

I saw that truck on eBay a while back item # 4585061022 and it didn't sell but I had bid it up to $4050 then. I had talked to the owner several times as he is about 5 hours from me and I think it could have been bought for $5000. It sounded like it needed a little work as the exhaust pipe was bad, a few oil leaks and it had manual brakes. The truck was a plain hubcap truck originally. It also had a CB screwed to the dash and worst thing was an 8 track player screwed to the steel roof panel. I was thinking it was about a $4500 deal spending another $1500-2000 to pick it up and cherry it out. I just now noticed you must have bought it last night. So is it going to Texas or are you speculating?

Re: Whats it worth?

Yeah , I bought it and it will be coming to Texas . I thought it over and decided I wanted it . I noticed the manual brakes and figured it was a hubcap truck . I like the rallyes anyway but will probably switch to B.F. Goodrich 255/70/15's . I plan on putting a headliner in it so the 8 track wasnt an issue . Only problem I have is that I have to have it shipped unless I get to go during the week . I did get it for less than the Buy It Now though . Not much ,but less . It will make a nicer truck than my current 1977 LWB would have . Here is the current auction link . Frank

Re: Whats it worth?

I'm sure it will make you a nice truck. I was looking at it as a survivor type of truck and it would have just been put away for an occasional trip to town. There are quite a number of original low mile trucks around this part of the country especially in the 73-87's. The truck I missed on eBay was in Minneapolis last Saturday. A 1987 Silverado HD 20 series 4x4 with 46,700 actual and factory red with a mint charcoal interior and the bed cap on it since day one. Stock wheels and hubcaps and 1 owner trade in. I talked to the dealer 1 hour after he had sold it outside of eBay for $4900. I am still asking why can't that of been mine for that bargain price. Your right that darn shipping takes the bite out eBay buying thee days too. I have found you better plan on getting it yourself or your just asking for trouble with shipping it commercially.

Re: Whats it worth?

I am talking with the guy right now about meeting me in Kansas City and trailering it home from there . I will only save a couple hundred dollars that way . I dont really know if it is worth saving a couple hundred and taking a couple days to go get it . I have shipped a couple of vehicles and had one shipped to me . No problems but I dont want this one to be the first . On another note , I might keep my 1977 Bonanza just to have a nice pair of trucks for my boys . Frank

Re: Whats it worth?

I have had three vehickes shipped in the last three years and two of them were pretty seriously damaged. The one I recieved cost me $850 to replace and repair the damage out of my pocket and it had until then been a survivor with all original 33 year old paint. And the other ordeal was after sending off an old friend on a truck, the new owner luckilly found a Maaco receipt that the trucking company forgot to take out or he would have been all over me about selling him some bondoed up vehicle. You can't trust anyone these days. If I can help out on a shipping meeting place or you get cold feet on this one give me a shout. I'm always interested in nice original stuff.
