Another truck followed me home (with pics)

Here's another bomb I just picked up today from a "friend". 71 Chev, 307, Th350, PS, pretty base truck.
The good: runs well but needs an HEI swap, front end seems decent, black interior, special order lime green paint
The bad: has TONS of rust. The pics don't even begin to show how much cancer is on this thing...bad even for my area. Busted back window, cracked windshield, cracked grille, cool lime repainted brown/cream.
Truck cost me $229.00..now I just gotta figure out what I am going to do with this thing.

I think that is a 110 volt block warmer attachment cord.
It is a northern thang.

well.. inow hte feeling of things following you home... but anyway, you could make money on that thing if you decided to part it out... the grill looks good, the front bumper is a desirable peice if it is straight, the 307 and auto trang are worth something, and then anyt rim etc, etc, etc.... then take the thing in and get 25-50 at the scrap yard... OR do like i have had luck doing lately and trade it for scrap wieht for another 67-72 at a jyard and repeat the process.. great cheap way to get parts...

Lol ya that is a block heater cord hanging from the front. Was thinking of putting the 307 in my GMC for awhile until I can get a nice 350 or 383 built. The 250 in it right now is almost toast, and I can't wait to get the 3 spd manual out of there.

If you'd had that thing about 15 months ago when I was looking for all kinds of miscelanious parts you'd have made a fortune off me. And no pesky dollar exchange rates to worry about either. If your gonna part it out let me know. I know a few guys around S'toon always lookin for parts ( me included).

Geez too bad I didn't talk to you earlier...last year I had a pretty complete (minus engine) 69 GMC I had to get rid of due to complaints by the neighbors. Alot of good stuff went to the scrapyard for $80.00 I even had to give some stuff away because it was just in the way. Any chance your friends are looking for a 72 front suspension to convert from 6 bolt drums??

for 229.00 I would definitely say you made out okay, figuring out what to do with them once you get them is a whole new problem in itself .Congradulations......
