1966 3speed manual tranny w/overdrive

I was just wondering if anyone is running this transmission in their truck. Hows it run?

I was thinking it might be an inexpensive solution to the gas price increase...

Yeah gas here is outragous.. well not as bad as other places but still bad for here. its about $2.68/gal. here and i can't afford it.. my inline 6 gets great gas mileage with the 3 speed tranny.

I paid $2.79 this morning. Ack. I have a 3 speed now with no overdrive and I can only squeeze out 14MPG with 3.73 rear end. I know I could swap the rear end to a 3.07 but I would kinda like to keep the peppy first gear if I can... So I thought of the old 3speed with overdrive. I guess its not too popular of a set up
