I'm sure there has to be some tips and tricks to taking the box off of the truck. I'm taking it off of the '72 C20. Once I get it disconnected how hard is it to lift up and pull off? There is no wood floor in it so it should be fairly light. I am thinking of building one of those 2x4 rolling things like that cab was on in a different topic...

i took a box off a 76 c10 last weekend air hammers work best to take off the nuts therye 3/4" and there was 8 of em.my son was able to lift it up easy enough but it took another guy to flip it off ( it was a junk box) if ya can only get the nuts half out i used a dremel with the cutoff wheel to bust nuts that wouldnt come off 3 of 8 had top be cut and i put wd40 on the bolts the night before

When I did my 70, the wood was all gone, so at first I just used a cold chisel and sledge to cut the boltsheads off since I clear access to them all. After hitting my self (only took once this time) I invested in a grinder and cutoff wheels. and finished it up real quick. I love cutoff wheels. Much much better than the dinosaur way

Those sound like some good ideas. Where can I find new bolts to put it back on? I looked in the LMC catalogue but they are pretty expensive...

i did one today
first unbolt it
second lift - i did it with 2 guys (longbed w/ metal floor)
thrid take sideways baby steps until bed is clear of frame
forth put it down
fifth drink beer (i didn't but it might help)
