Ls3
Hi Guys!
I am doing a ls3 swap in my 67 . The motor came out of a 2011 Camaro and I bought the CPP kit for the swap.My question is what oil pan do I have to use ? I did a test fit tonight and the stock pan will not clear. Thanks in advance for your help |

Holley and others make retrofit musclecar pans. I'm going to assume (hey, it's your money, costs me nothing if I'm wrong) that if it fits a Chevelle it'll fit your truck.
In fact Holley (and others, again) make entire retrofit kits that include mounts and various other pieces you need. Probably the easiest way to go if you're not a big fabricator.

I bought the retro fit kit from CPP but it did not come with a pan . The pans they show look just like the OEM
The other question is what should I do with the oil cooler? Has anybody used the pan from MAST Motorsprts? Last edited by kotapug; 09-04-2014 at 08:14 PM. |

I used a 2007 Cadillac CTsV pan in my 68 and my 69 conversion. Be careful removing the fitting going into the block for the oil cooler, it is real easy to strip the threads on it.

get the holley ls conversion pan. its essentially a smaller Camaro pan. should work in all c10 truck applications and is reasonably priced.
bpatrol p.s. if not and looking for cheaper a Camaro pan should work too |

The motor I have is out of a 2011 Camaro and the pan is 2 big

Believe it or not, GM sells a replacement pan setup for conversions to older vehicles.

I had no trouble with using the oil pan that came on my stock 4.8, although if your chassis is 4WD it might be trouble.

I used a LS1 F-body pan. This was back before the retrofit pans were readily available.
