Re: 327 to 396
If it's still in the car GR8 take everything brackets for alt. power sterring , ect.
From what I've leared here towers can be used from SBC Then exhaust change over of course. Pretty basic if you have all the asserory stuff from what I can see. If this stuff is not on the engine that is what you will have to come up with to do the swap BBC to SBC (asserory brackets). RJ22 |

Re: 327 to 396
Back then you could order evrything and anything mild to wild so a 325hp 396 could have been had in a plain jane run of the mill machine if that was what ya wanted. (sleepers if you will) Those were the days. I wish I could have been there. Anyway does it have the assesory still attached from the car. RJ22

Re: 327 to 396
just did one. you can use the small block motor mounts and towers. the towers need to be shimmed about 1/4 to 1/2 on the bottom, and it'll slide right in. 2wd of course. have fun with the pulleys etc. I did use the long pump, and it fit without the fan ext. but i don't have a clutch fan. you may want to use the short setup. You can find all the parts on eBay.

Re: 327 to 396
You'll probably need to switch to a bigger radiator too. The 2 or 3 core radiator might have problems keeping it cool. You'll need bigger brackets to hold the 4 core.

Re: 327 to 396
If you run full roller rockers you'll need tall valve covers. You'll need to pull the brake booster to drop the moter in as well as adjust the valves. My three core rad cools my 496 fine but I have a 4 core on hand in case.

Re: 327 to 396
I pulled and replaced my 396 without having to move the brake booster; maybe you'll be as lucky.
