tilting a 71 seat

Is there a way to tilt a 71 bench to allow access to behind the seat area? I removed my stock tank and would like to use the storage space back there.

Got a good bench seat just want it to tilt forward.

There's two bolts on each side that hold the back to the bottom. You'll remove one from each side and it will now pivot on the remaining one.

Glad to see you back on the site Kevin.. Your knowledge, expertise on our trucks and willingness to share the info with anyone is much appreciated.

Re: tilting a 71 seat

On my old truck I used one of those round pins withe the pball bearing in the end in that bolt hole. Pulled the pin and the seat went forward. Put the pin back and the seat doesn't hit the back oof the cab. Just my 2 cents!

Re: tilting a 71 seat

I used to do the same thing as Jorgensensc when I was in high school, but it was to hide my... um... oregano. Hit a Tractor Supply and go to the trailer area....remove the front pair of bolts and the pin solution works great!
