Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

This thread has been great motivation to get started on my 72'.

For you LS1 guys, it seems like most of you are running the KwikPerf A/C bracket. Straight forward install? Built well? Dirty dingo makes a better looking one (IMO) but its a bit pricier.

Are you running the 5.3 oil pan or did the LS1 pan fit your cross member? Mine is out of an 02' Vette... Still researching the differences. GM likes changing part #'s like I change my socks.

here is she is before being pulled:

I think I remember seeing your truck back in April. Were you parked close to Wendy's and Long John Silvers at one point?

Cool! We need to meet up in September. I know of about 4 other guys with stepsides that will be attending the Shades of The Past show. It would be cool to get a bunch of us together to hang out.

First off let me say that this truck is PERFECT on so many levels. I love love love the design and execution here. Was hoping for some more details on your a/c compressor bracket. Am I correct that you had to notch the stock bracket for adapter plates? I've heard this discussed a few times but never seen any pictures of it done. Thanks in advance.

I basically used glock35ipsc modified engine bracket design, and did what RocketKing done, except with v8 mounts and put them in the front frame holes - there is no modificactions to the a/c bracket, it worked perfect.

How did you get the a/c compressor to fit down in there? I have a 72 GMC with a 01 6.0 DBC and I have had no such luck.
