Tranny Help.

Hi guys, This is my first time posting in the 99+ forum because I rarely have problems with my 2001 GMC sierra 4.3V6 automatic.

My tranny gave up on me this past Friday and I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
My question is: what model tranny comes equipped with my sierra and if there are other compatible trannies that'll just bolt on?? what is my best option, since I use this vehicle for work in the construction Field, I want something that'll last.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks Guys!
oh yeah, not sure if it matters or not but its a 1500 extended cab.

You have a 4L60E. The only transmission that whould be stronger & a direct bolt-in is a 4L65E...Not really needed behind a 4.3L.

I reccommend having yours rebuilt with a hardened sunshell, some more frictions added to the 3-4 clutch pack (9 instead of 6) & a Transgo shift kit.
