Floor shifter?
I am in the process of puttin a big block & th400 in my 68. I would like to keep my bench seat, but I want a rachet shifter (mega shifter to be exact). I was just curious if any has put one in before and had any pics. I want it high enough so that I won't get a kink in back just trying to shift.

I had a cable linkage His`n`Hers dual pattern shifter in a Blazer.I bought a Hurst shifter for it that was tall enough so I could rest my arm along my leg while sitting upright and hold the pistol-grip with my hand next to my knee.I could just slide my forearm up and back on my leg to shift while spinning the steering wheel with my left hand.This was a perfect set-up for playin`in the mud,whiping it around and banging gears while kicking it into 2Hi to powerslide,then hit 4Hi and blast throught the gears on the straight shot.The steering wheel was a larger sponge-grip and the tach was up on top of the dash.It was perfect,the one in my avatar.I sure miss it.

I have a B&M rachet shifter it my 87 k10 and its not to bad on the back. The only time i had to sit up was to put in park.

YOu can always mount it higher with a bracket bolted to the floor if it is too low for you.

Fabbed a mount and raised it 9" in the front and 7" in the back. Love it works great. JK

Hurst makes a variety of sticks to suit your needs.
