68 chevy stepper aKa " jackcrack"
my name is hector and me and my dad have a 68 stepper its black has a 250 and needs work still after 8 years.... it hasnt been worked for 4 1/2 years.. i have been to 3 houses and the hosue i live in now doesnt have room... so my buddy rick (67chevy1series) has his 67 and we work on it and it makes me want to work on mine, but mine spends the night at a strangers house.. he was supposed to change the engine a year and a half ago, so that went south. i will post pics as i go along, just today me and rick went to visit it. and while we were there rick said we should take the instrument bezel ut and well we did and he insistsed that he would restore the guages so i let him he did a good job. anyways heres pics

there over here with me... he needs to bring me the new bezel. and bad news was the new bezel they bought had ripples in the chrome
 they also didnt mask off the lens when they painted the bezel so i did the best i could getting the paint off but now the lens has a haze so they need a new one

ok got a 67 68 steering wheel for him and im going to shoot it with primer then some black paint then i will install this saturday. ill try to get some shots

the gauges have been rebuilt and are ready for reinstall (when ever they give me or his dad gives him the green light) they have new to them metal white grill hoops with the patina an they have the hubcaps in the first couple of pics off and are at there house.
the truck needs: 1 radiator support ( rusted under the battery tray) 2 grille (they have it but havent put it on, because its on my dads truck) 3 passenger inner fender (rusted under battery tray) 4 a bench seat from 67 72 or buddy buckets 5 power steering 6 power disc/drum brakes 7 new doors a lot of bondo and they are spreading at the window sill 8 a new engine 9 new front ,rear coil springs they are looking for a 283, 327 or a 250 I6 so thats what there doing and in the process of doing at the moment. hector (fordsucks) computer wasnt loading this truck site (computer doesnt like this site for some reason) so he hasnt gotten the chance to get on alot but when i have pics and have updates i will post unless he says other wise. |

u guys shoulda had me check out the pc when i was over there.
hector said he wanted a 6 for MPG. believe he also said he had the engine but the guy who was rebuilding it/had it was lagging it? did that change

well i have dont sopme work to the 68 with my friend Rickey. we took my 250 inline 6 out and i got a 307 from a friend so we cleaned up the engine painted it. it was in a 67 gmc custom longbed fleetside. here are pics of what we did

and more, we then moved then moved on for a little bit to go back to the trcuk and not the engine we installed the guages and knobs with chrome centers and we cleaned the chrome rings for the radio knobs

and the inline 6 is out time for the 307 V8... its to bad the 307 get such a bad rap from the 305.

and the 307 is in. dont worry we cleaned the frame i need to find the pics of it and ill post those another day. thats me sitting in the engine bay next to my 307.
