I was quoted a price of 200.00 to powdercoat all 4 upper and lower a a-arms on my 72, black. This included light sandblasting. Is this a good price. I have no idea how much this cost. Sounded kind of high to me.

It's all relative to location, I am having 65 smaller parts, biggest is a
crossmember but most are brackets, etc....done for $35 w/ blasting.

Im in the Dallas-Ft Worth area so I would think the price should be lower in a large area.

Color will also determine price. Powder is priced like paint (smaller qty means more $. reds, candy's mean more$)

We do Control Arms for $25 ea. In a satin black powder.

Mid-West prices are around $100 / set (Includes blasting)

I've been doing my own at home, and it isn't really that expensive to do. I have coated my brake pedal and the mount that is is suspended from, all my metal heat ducts under the dash, the brake-booster-bracket, the metal parts for the accelerator pedal, and a few other small odds-n-ends for less than $8.00 worth of powder...and what ever electricity I used. All of that is high-gloss black, but I am ordering some other colors today for under-hood goodies!!
I do agree on the "price versus product" mentioned above. You get powder just like paint. Certain colors are higher, where you buy it plays in to the price, and just like paint, there are lower quality powders out there.

You can buy a home unit and use an old stove to bake the finish, all for well under $200 and you'll have enough material to coat many other parts from eastwood company. It comes complete with the power, gun and all. You will need an oven (do not cook in it again) and you can coat a-arms, brackets, and anything else you can fit in an oven. Good luck, oh $200 sounds way high keep looking there are a ton of places in the DFW area.

Just get yourself a $99 machine from Eastwood, an old oven, a small compressor, and you are in business.
Most appliance repair shops will have an oven....like if the top burners all went out, but the oven works....that is what you want! That is EXACTLY what happened to me. Top of stove was shot, so th enew one went in the kitchen, and the old one went to the shop!!

This is what I was saying, then you can coat, engine tins, carbs, suspension parts, anything that will fit in an oven! Forget shop prices (no offence), but I take pride in doing it myself, and that includes powder coating my own crap!

I live in West Texas. We use a place out of Hobbs, New Mexico. Complete frame, trailing arms, a-arms & crossmember cost $350. Rear end housing is $40, intakes & valve covers are $30. They pickup and deliver for no extra charge. They also have a place in Odessa Texas.

The shop that gave you that quote probably has a minimum. I got a quote one time from a shop that had done all my bumper brackets. For a couple of small parts they wanted the same amount as all the bmper brackets. When I questioned the price they said they had an "unadvertised" minimum.....

Ok, so now I am convinced that maybe I should try it myself I have a couple of questions for the DIY guys. Since you cant hang bigger parts in the oven do you just do half of the part at a time. Like a lower a-arm, Do you coat one side, Put it in the oven on a rack, bake it, coat the other side and put it back in the oven.Can you see any effects from putting the coated part back in the oven. Can you see any overlap from the two coats. How much overspray is there. Obviously how good job you do depends on how clean the part is but does everything have to be sandblasted. Last question. How hot does the oven have to get to bake the parts.

400 degrees is about what you're gonna need. You can also find plans to make an oven out of an old deep freeze and a few oven heating elements.
