41-46 chevy pickup bench seat ideas

hi guys, looking for inspiration in my search for a bench seat for my 45 chevy pickup. anybody got any pics of their bench seat or any idea what will fit/work

Funny you ask. I just found a bench seat for my 46. I don't know what it came out of though as I found it with a bunch of other seats in a cargo trailer at my local junk yard. It measures right at 45" which is a perfect fit for our trucks. the best I can guess is that it came out of some minivan.
Here is a pic of the 2 seats I have. the one without the head rests is what was in my truck when I bought it. It was a little to large at 51" as it kind of rubbed the doors. The one with the head rests is the one I just bought.

If you want my old seat your welcome to it. the only thing is you would have to re-skin it and narrow up the foam so it wouldn't rub the doors.

Keep an eye on my build thread as I am about to update it with how I went about mounting the new seat.

I used one out of a Chrysler mini van in my 38 over the stock gas tank. keep the seatbelt receivers for the seat and get the retractable shoulder strap from a dodge Dakota and you will have 3 point seat belts.

I found the mini van bench to be too short in the back rest height , felt like i was in a kids seat which i guess is who they were made for really .
Went with some low back black buckets out of a mercedes until i find the right bench

I have a S-10 bench seat in my 46, it fits perfectly. I removed the stock seat base and mounted the seat on tubing so the seat mounts 6" above the floor.

After a lot of searching for a bench with good upholstery, and a fold down arm rest.I found this in a 2003 chrysler town and country 3rd row seat. the seat is leather, and very stout and pretty flat on the bottom, so mounts were easy. and I wanted to save the original pedestal. I plan on gas struts to raise the seat on something to cover the space between the sides of the pedestal and the seat.

Saw your post abt using an S-10 bench seat in a 1946 truck. Was it a specific year, or do you think all years bench seats will fit.

Any year, they're the same width.

I had a third row GM in my 42, sorry do not have pictures.
A bonus is the built in shoulder belts, they were out of early 00's

3rd row seat from a 2000ish dodge caravan . Fits well and seems comfortable. I”ll get it recovered when I start building truck
