Back on the road again

I'm sure all remember my post where my small block scattered Saturday night.

Well, I got the inline engine in, built another new exhaust and it seems to run real well. The 292's torque coupled with the auto trans is real nice.

I searched the Tx Firefighter B-POD (that's big ol pile of driveshafts) and found one the perfect length.

I got lucky, it took about 7 hours and cost about 20 bucks. I had to buy some trans cooler hose to extend the lines since the 6 was moved back compared to the SBC.

I will be at Decatur after all.

Glad to hear it's back on the road! It must have been a sign,... that you need another big block. Time to start looking for a low mileage 1-ton donor truck. You have had some of the coolest trucks on here,... including your newest budget build. Keep us posted.

Just remember, those are long rods for someone that has trouble with running over his own rod.I don`t think so...292s are bullet-proof.

Re: Back on the road again

I drove it to the swap meet, which was the goal. I met a few new board members there and scored a few killer deals of parts and stuff.

When I get my nerve up, I'll remove the oil pan and get pictures of the carnage. I'm kind of depressed about it, so I just put it on the engine stand and covered it up with a big fender apron so I don't have to look at it.
