The electric fan keeps it way cooler then the stock fan with shroud.

Plus the electric fan has a thermastat so i can set what temp i want the engine to run at.

Re: My 72 gmc fleetside

What are the details on your electric fan?

Is it made for the C-10? Was it converted from something else?

Where did you get it?

What does it cost?

How did the installation go?

Cheers,

Tim

I got the fan from mopac auto supply in langley, the fan and the wiring kit was $120.
The install was very easy (constant power, switch power, ground and the rad heat censer)

Nice looking GMC. I've always liked lowered GMCs...

Are they hard to find in Canada?

SWB ones are, but otherwise there are tons of GMC's here. When I was looking a couple years ago, I actually found alot more GMC's than Chevs...seems to be the opposite from you guys down south?

Overall, I think that's probably one of the nicest GMC's I've seen. (truck color, with color matched grill, etc...)

Nice!

I would stay away from the air gap. I had one and it took a lot out of my low end. For a 4000lb truck you need all the low/mid you can get. You might be better off with just a regular perfromer RPM.

Just my .02 cents.

B.T.W. VERY nice looking engine compartment. I'm a freak for attention to detail also. Very clean but usable and practical. Great job!

That is a darn nice rig! I have a feeling my truck may never be that clean, but I sure do like the looks of them.

Re: My 72 gmc fleetside

Welcome to the board. You have a very nice rig there. I feel like a tool for pointing a couple things out, but it may be in your best interest.
First and formost, if that is a glass fuel filter, you need to make some chainges PRONTO. It's on a rubber line which isn't supported (which in it's self is a pretty bad idea) and it'll probably flop around pretty bad, and could break the glass spraying fuel all over the hot headers... not good.
The filter is perfectly safe IF it is routted and secured to where it won't smack anything\.
The other thing is that K&N air filter. I get a lot of flack for this, but they don't filter for squat. All they filter out is birds and bricks.. anything smaller goes right into the carb. I can go into detail in a PM if you are interested, but for engine longevity, I'd ditch it pronto and get a normal paper air filter.

Re: My 72 gmc fleetside

Longhornman is right on both accounts......
I still run a K&N and a glass filter though I guess I just like livin' on the edge.

Good luck and again, nice ride.

Re: My 72 gmc fleetside

I run the glass filter too, if it is secured it is a great tool. just flopping around it's askin for trouble.
My engine is already WORN 30 over... I don't need K&N's help.
