Fuel Tank Sealant

My cab has been increasingly smelling more and more like gas, upon further inspection, it appeared to be leaking on the passenger side bottom of the tank (due to dark spots that looked like the may be letting some gas vaporize out). Since a new tank is $200+ and shipping another $125 I decided to try this product first...

$83 with shipping. I syphoned the gas out, removed the tank, washed and rinsed with soapy water, washed with acetone and drywall screws, let dry and coated tank with the 2 part resin yesterday evening. Today I'll replace the tank, float, sending unit and seat and before work tomorrow morning put all my gas back into the tank.

I'll let you all know how it turns out in the next few days.

So this stuff worked wonders...before sealing I had to leave my windows down a hair, just so I wouldn't get too high when getting in the truck, and on a hot day...forget about it.

Since sealing, haven't smelled a wiff of gas!!!

I got the 'Car Kit' which does up to a 20 gallon tank, and while I ended up pouring some of it back out of the tank, the resin was thick enough that if you tried to skimp and not uswe the whole kit, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get full coverage.
