because a bunch of people want the look of the older trucks without having to give up the luxurys that come with a new truck. i agree they are ugly but to each his own

it just doesn't look good. Back then everyging was smooth and rounded. Those newer trucks are so boxy, kinda "shoebox chevy" looking.

Paid advertisement. The "fugly" comment fits perfect.

I think they had a good idea, just didn't come through with a very good end product. I kinda like the one Jamis posted, that is a great improvement to an S-10! More info, please?

Not for me. I have old trucks and a new truck. I like both of them for different reasons. But I think I will keep the body panels where they belong.

I,ll go against the grain here and say I like it.Though the way things are going now the new trucks are getting close in looks to the old(body styling wise)
As far as new boxes on old trucks..to each their own.At least with thr newer ones it is easier to get liners and covers.Plus it eliminates those ugly chains on the tailgate

Actually I thought it would look good on a swb regular cab sportside truck. I think this may be the ONLY WAY it would look cool.

These have been around for a while now, before the SSR was even seen. It body stye is based on a 39 studebaker. The only thing I dont like is the bed body lines, I think it should be staighter on top. I was going to build one on my daily driver after it reached 100,000 miles, but changed my mine becuase of a few issues with it. I still think it looks like a nice "ROD" not really a truck. http://www.kreativerodwerks.com/Pricing/default.asp

I saw one at Pigeon Forge last year (the 1500 conversion) and I didn't think it looks too bad. It looks better in person than in the adds. I kind of agree that it looks better on a short regular cab than the extended cab. I have seen much worse that is for sure. I think I like th one than makes it look like a 40 Ford on the front better though.
