Steering Wheel Pics
There's some old threads of steering wheel pics. I would like to see what you guys/gals have in your trucks. I'm going to swap mine out someday, but in the mean time, I would like to see what everyone else has to get some ideas.
This what I have currently. I like stock & custom both, and I've been trying to stay somewhat stock with the restoration. I just don't care for the huge wheel. |

Re: Steering Wheel Pics
I think this style wheel only came in 1988-90 C1500 Cheyenne trucks.

1982 C10 Silverado.
Had a GT Grant Steeringwheel when I bought it, Found this factory one from a K5 Bonanza. Edit: I have no idea why the picture is upside down. Edit: Fixed it. Last edited by Liberty; 03-15-2015 at 09:59 PM. Reason: Fixed image |

Re: Steering Wheel Pics
I don't have a picture of it, but mine has a steering wheel from a 90's model. It's great because it is smaller, but it's just not right. Luckily the guy I bought it from tossed the original in the toolbox, so eventually the injustice will be corrected.

Re: Steering Wheel Pics
Well I finally got all the interior done. Now its finally time for the steering wheel. I'm going to go with LMC. Black & Chrome w/ Bowtie horn button. It's a 14" wheel, so I think the size will be better than that big stock wheel. It will pretty much look like JWall's steering wheel except for the horn button will have the embossed Bowtie. BTW, thanks JWall, I got my inspiration from you.

Re: Steering Wheel Pics
Hey there TKCR, I like that little center console on your bench seat. What brand is that? Where did you get it?

I had left over vinyl from my seat re-upholstery, I sent it to them and they made mine with that. That way I didn't have to guess on a color and hoped that it matched. |

Re: Steering Wheel Pics
Finally got the new steering wheel installed. BEFORE & AFTER
Only 1 problem, the horn sounds like a sick cow. Anyone know what the problem might be? I also noticed that it seems to be drawing on the meter lights, much like it does when you have a draining battery when you try to turn the key. What am I missing? I followed the paper instructions along with a video on youtube so I wouldn't miss any steps. I'm hoping that someone who have done this same steering wheel swap can point me in the right direction.
