Not enough of a demand for parts. Detroit lockers from 14 bolt fit supposedly,
if you use the side gears and 14 bolt 30 spline axles.

new ring and pinions used to be made in a few of the ratios as well as an aftermarket 3.90, but i no longer believe they are. bearings are easy to get a hold of. brake stuff might be tricky but there is always disc conversions

There are one "H" o alot of these axles out there and they make for the best offroad rear.It truly is amazing a gear company hasn`t seen the light and produce gear sets.14-bolts are swapped-in right and left to more off road machines than anything. The only reason the most savvy builders don`t use HO52s is lack gear availability. The industry has created thier own viscious cycle.I`ve heard the "no demand" line before on many an item and to that I tell them,"If it was available, people would demand it." I had the same conversation with bicycle companies when I was building a clunker, the first form of offroad multi-gear adult sized bicycles.I got hung up when it came to tires.Within two years mountain bikes hit the scene and took over the market.

Special K you are a man ahead of your time! I too like the H052 and H072 rear ends and agree abiout the off roading comment. Brakes are either hard to get or expensive, but 14 bolt disc brake conversion brakets bolt to the flanges on the H0 rear ends. Personally I don't run a tire that would require more than 4.56 gears any way. They are a great rear axle, lighter than a 14 bolt, more ground clearence and superior in strength to anything but a 14 bolt, Dana 70 or AAM 11.5.

Oh,I don`t know.I just hear voices and they tell me things.I didn`t have ridalin growing up.
I`m stickin`with the HOs as long as I can.I wouldn`t be to see gears made again, yet.Anyone have any capitol?

As long as the seals and bearings stay good the r&p should last.I have a 4.10 No-Spin for my 4wd project in waiting.I want to do disc brakes on that one.

Don't worry about it. I know a guy who took Ridalan...and he's still a mess. You were better off without it!
