What frames will work for my 69 Burb???

Hey Guys,
Long time reader first time poster...

I'm converting my kids 69 burb 2wd to 4wd and am wondering what my frame options are? Can I use late 70's frame, 80's? I bought a 70 GMC Jimmy for the axles and such, but am looking for other options too.

Thanks,
Tom

With a torch and a welder, any thing will work
If you have a good frame with thw burb, I would use that, if you want somthing stronger then I would start looking at newer 1tons, but keep in mind that you will have to fab all the body mounts, adjust the wheel base and unless its a rolling chassis, you will have to modify the axles pring pads depending on which axles you use.

Well, I'm pretty good (for a hack) with my MIG welder and don't have tanks for my torches yet, but am hell with a cutoff wheel and sawzall...
Moving body mounts and such is not a big deal, but am really looking to see what else has a close wheel base and width of frame rails. And, if my kids run this thing hard enough to need a one ton frame, I'm going to loose my mind!

Cheap but not so easy, is to remove all the riveted mounts off the Jimmy frame and put them on the 'burb frame. All the holes should be there, so bolt 'em on and then tack weld the nuts to the bolts: red-neck riveter.
