95 sierra rcsb
Ive owned this truck since I was 15 my first set of wheels and I just cant seem to let myself get rid of it. I bought it from my grandfathers carlot. He origionally bought it in 97 (I think thats right)as a dealer trade from Beaman in Nashville where it was purchased new.and he sold it to a long time customer of his who traded it back in on a 2000 two tone burgandy and gold ext cab when I was 15 . As a teenager I did everything you shouldnt as a kid in that truck.a lot of good and bad memories(I had a lot speeding tickets) so thats why its staying its definetly permanent fixture in the garage. A few years ago she set aside for a DD so I dont have to worry about tearing her up.
Im in the slow process of making her better than new. Its a restomod kinda feel I want the truck to be custom but still feel Like Im in my truck. |

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
Exterior; Repaint stock color,Ive got a cowl hood, smooth rollpan, smooth door handles which Ill probably end up tossing in favor for some yukon rear handles(key hole-less).
Ive got a shaved tailgate for it too.I plan on shaving the 3rd brake light aswell Im going to do something a little different there. Interior; will stay mostly stockish,I put some escalade gauges in swapped in some slt buckets and console(which will be tossed in favor of a custom built at some point).I may add some more billet here and there and at some point I will have the seats recovered and while they are at it I plan to have some interior plastics covered too. I put some escalade handles in and some billet specialty window cranks and with a billet shifter. Wheels; Ive got 17x10 Boyd Coddington timneless 5s on it now but when I get more into the suspension of it Ill have to get something different it will be something in billet with wide wheels out back likely in a r20". Suspension; Now it has belltech 2in drop spindles a hanger shackle kit out back. My next big purchase some ART tubular control arms. In the rear Id like to do a 4link with coilovers. Drivetrain; 305,4l60e,3.42,this area on the truck is bonestock w/ the exception of a K&N CAI which I should have just saved my money pretty much a waste. but someday Ill run a vortech 350 or 383 in it I really like the looks of the TPI setup but from what I hear Id be better off just using a bigblock throttle body probably a lot simpler. Right now Im pretty much just trying save up top buy all the goodies for it. |

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
I recently ditched the plain door panels and bought some door panels with pockets at a swap meet and painted them up to match.

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
I had a problem with my smoothie bumper rusting on the inside most people probably would care but Im kinda particular.
I used a grinder and the stuff in the above pic then I sprayed some duplicolor spray on liner and some gloss black over that and Good as new! Here is a more recent pic of the truck. Last edited by gmt400; 03-17-2010 at 11:40 PM. |

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
Man, I like those wheels...I saw they stick out just a little; do you get a lot of rock chips?
Also, I like the painted grille shell a lot better. Are you gonna put the air dam back on it?

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
Yeah I like the painted grille a lot better too and yes the airdam is going back on I dont get in a rush for stuff like that since I rarely drive it...and no I didnt get any rock chips(I probably only put 20miles max on those wheels if I had driven it a lot i probably wouldnt have any paint on the sides lol thats why I sold them they were too wide ...Boss 338's in chrome on the way 20x10 rear20x8 up front.I just need to figure out what size tires Im going with.
I cant remember what size those tires were I think maybe 275/45/17. |

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
Are those gauges from a Tahoe Limited?
Truck looks good though. I've always loved 95's. I owned a 95 GMC extra cab short bed for about 4 years. |

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
I too just found this one. Great looking truck. That interior would have looked great in my old 88. I'm not a big fan of cowl hoods on these trucks but I think it'll look good on that color. The painted grilles hold up better than the chrome plated plastic ones too.
It's great that you are holding onto your first vehicle. A great many of us wish we had hung onto ours.

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
What did you use to paint the door panels? They came out great.

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
To answer a few questions the seats came from a 95-99 yukon slt, gauges came from an 2000 escalade, and they door panels got painted with a duplicolor interior dye.
Thanks guys for all the compliments hopefully I will have an update soon. once my 2dr tahoe sells im planning on doing a few things to it ive been meaning to for years. |

Re: 95 sierra rcsb
Wow I really need to update I had the shaved tailgate, mirrors and cowl hood painted and I also had a vortec HD 5.7 (4bolt mains) put in it but it doesnt ide just right so I havent really done anything to it in the last 2 months b/c it is such a pain to drive and I havent really had time to take it to get fixed. I have no Idea why it wont run right Im guessing not enough spark or it needs a custom tune. Ill get some pics up soon
