Who has a 4x4 with a 700r4/205

OK

I have asked this before but hoping for some more answers.

Those of you who have done the 700r4 with the 205 swap, what did you do for your tranny to transfer case adapter?

Is Advance Adapters the only way to go? Or are there other alternatives?

For starters for a quick answer till i could get you more info..
you can use the t350 to 205 adapter and sleeve..
I think you have to have something done with your tailshaft of the 700r4. You would still have to do tha same even if you paid the big money for an advance adapter..

I have not done the swap, I am doing a 4L80E swap. I did a lot of research though befrore making my decision. Nothing wrong with the 700R4 but I wanted to loose the female coupler sleeve that is in the stock adapter. As far as your question the TH350 and 700R4 have the same bolt pattern for a tailshaft housing (that is where the adapter bolts to). The only part needed from AA is the new output shaft for the 700R4. You would use the stock TH350-NP205 adapter. I do not know of anybody who makes another option at this time but I would imagine it would be much more expensive than the AA output shaft if it was a complete adapter assembly.

Question 700r swap

I am also looking into this for a swap. Can't find 373 gears for a ho72 eaton Stuck with 456 for now. How much does the swap cost (ball park) for 700r and AA adapter?

Talking Cost??

Well that all depends on what exactly you want to do I have seen guys buy the shaft and have it put in a GM 700 and go right into the truck. I had a 700 built to be bomb proof and they put the shaft into it when building it but the build cost me $2300. You can spend as much or as little as you want but haveing this trans behind anything stronger than a stock SBC and a heavy foot will get you nothing but frustration. Like I said I wheel the crap out of my truck it was even my daily driver and I beat it never had a issue. I have however broken the AA output shaft......

There is another way. Check out this thread at ck5:

The stock 700 shaft has the same splines but sticks out of the case further than the t350 shaft. This spacer makes up for the difference so you dont need to replace the output shaft with the shorter advance adapter piece. Good points - it is cheaper and provides more room for the front driveshaft to clear the pan. Bad point - is that it makes an already longer trans even longer
