69 Chevy "Work In Progress"

Hey guys/gals I just signed up for this forum last week but have been following this website for a year now. I have been working on my truck for over a year now and just wanted to share some pictures with you guys to see what you thought. I have a full set of autometer gauges coming in and a complete gasket kit ordered as well. Beingactive duty military time is limited but its getting there....Cheers.....

Re: 69 Chevy "Work In Progress"

Well I original bought it to drive around and enjoy. Well I then decided to build the engine in it so she could be a beast on the streat. One thing lead to the next and it turned into a frame off restoration. Thing so far:
Rear suspension completely redone. Shocks, c-notch, lowering springs.
Cab was all rusted so I found this one for 300. Did the vin swap. Working on new seals.
Changed it from column to floor shift.
All new gauges
Going to do carpet
Have touched front end yet. But plan on spindles, springs, shocks.
Engine is a built 355 out of a 89 silverado. I called summit and told them what I wanted and they built a package which I have not yet drove on the street.
Don't know what else. Lately it's been deciding on things to do as I go and when I have money....

Re: 69 Chevy "Work In Progress"

Did you replace the floor in the cab or is it just painted up nice?

Re: 69 Chevy "Work In Progress"

Just got finished with painting the door. Not to bad for a spray can. I am finding out that painting in the winter time is a pain in the but. One quick trip to homedepot for a propane heater did the trick. However keeping the garage closed to paint is a high you dont need. So went back to homedepot and have a new respirator now which is awesome.

Re: 69 Chevy "Work In Progress"

Ok as I said in a different post I am on back order for some dang parts so I went on with what I had avaliable. Finished both doors except linkage, and windows "waiting on vent window gaskets", finished gauge bezel except "waiting on speedo", and now i am doing the heat shied/sound material. Man doing this is very time consuming but will be nice when I am finished. The work continues and I have carpet already but need to get it out of the box and get it in once I am finished with the shield.

Re: 69 Chevy "Work In Progress"

Do it up man. All those gauges plus speedo as you see it ran me 500 shipped through egauges.com which I thought was a smokin deal. Oh yeah I have been working on tht base since early 2000.

Re: 69 Chevy "Work In Progress"

Some updated pictures from my build. The bed is almost complete and ready to put back on frame. Just some other minor work underneath and then undercoat which is on its way. Then some other images from other side jobs I completed when it was too late around the neighborhood to be grinding.

Re: 69 Chevy "Work In Progress"

These fenders were cut for I would imagine some really big rims and tires. So I brought them back to factory look.
