Questions on 1969 Steering Wheels

Hello all! I am curious what sort of plastic was used in 1969 for C10 steering wheels. I am looking to restore mine by filling the cracks with epoxy but wanted to confirm what type of plastic it was to determine the proper epoxy. I know there are a lot of old forums but none with years later followups to determine if the fixes worked longterm. I have always trusted JB weld and they have a plastic epoxy putty that looks promising. Any other recommendations? Im not looking for a temporary fix, I want it to last. And it will be painted and clear coated and always kept inside as it is a frame off resto.

Thanks for any help!!
