Vin numbers - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I just went down to my local dmv office to get clarification on what they need for me to title my truck. I need to know where to find the numbers on the frame. I found a bunch of numbers(looks like a part number) , stamped into the side of the frame, but have not found any others. ie at steering box location . The numbers on the side are not even close(don't have a ce or model number within them). I'am i just blind are not looking hard enough?
