Removing behind seat fuel tank brackets

Howdy,

I bought a newer seat for my '66, from which previous owner had already removed cab mounted tank, and when I pulled old seat yesterday realized I still have big ole brackets back there. Since one of the bolts holding the bracket on each side is a body mount bolt, I assume I'll need to put something back more substantial than just a standard nut and washer? Should I cut some plate and fashion a backing plate for the floor of the cab, or just a fender washer, or I pondered cutting out a portion of the bracket and tacking it down to the cab floor and using the factory captive nut.

Any suggestions? Am I over thinking it and I should just stick a nut on it and move on?

Thanks. I'm hoping to remove the bracket entirely. I've already removed the driver's side...I think I'm going to weld some nuts to some 3/16"x 2" steel and bolt the body mount and the other bolt from underneath back in let the steel serve to spread any load.

Drivers side out... Going to clean up rust, weld up no longer used holes, and make a backing plate for body mount.
