I just saw a 71 C20 longhorn for sale listed today on Denver craiglist with rebuilt 402 and 400 trans, might be a deal for someone

Re: WTB Big Block 402 or 454

Remind me where to look for the date code. I have a std. 402 block (4-bolt), crank and heads. All are bare and need a trip to the dip tank and machine shop. They are either 69 or 70. Need to sell.

Rob,

I have no clue. My zip is 18018. I'll strap to a pallet and use your shipper of choice.

Thanks,
Mike D.

I've never shipped anything like that. Does DHL/Yellowfreight do online quoting?

I shipped a BBC from Kansas to Washington through yellow freight and it was $320.00. If you are shipping Valve covers or any sheet metal make sure it is packed well as they like to stack stuff and it will get dented.

Re: WTB Big Block 402 or 454

Not sure on the weights. Maybe one of the board members out there that works for a GM dealer could give us weights on a bare block, crank, and iron BBC heads. Or maybe the folks at GM performance parts.

These weights are for 409/348. The 409/348 block would be maybe 20lbs lighter at the most. Crank and heads would be the same as BBC. This should get you close. Good Luck

Block (empty) 180 lb
Crankshaft 67 lbs
Cylinder head 55 lbs each bare casting

This is a much better rod and about the same price as if you reconditioned the old rods.

Re: WTB Big Block 402 or 454

Rob,

Believe it or not, I threw away the pistons and rods years ago! I'm sure that they were salvagable.
What I am not sure of is what I was thinking of at the time. Duuuuuh!!!

Jon's offer, (TriPro) might be our best shipping alternative. I'd gladly drive the parts to him.

Thanks Jon for the offer.
