What did you get done- Mothers day edition.

For those of you that are still blessed with having your Mother still alive, I hope you spent the day taking her to some place nice to eat, and treated her to a special card or gift.

Since my Mother passed on a few years ago, I spent the afternoon with my Mother-in-law. The weather was awesome here so we bar-b-qued. We had chicken breast, steak, sausage links, potatoes, and veggies all on the pit.

We finished all that off, and had a big bowl full of banana pudding.....Mmmmm!

Not much truck related this weekend. Next weekend I have to thrash on the 77 to get it ready for a show on Memorial weekend....

worked all day sat. got up today at 12:30 went to go get my haircut, they were closed, but then i noticed that they just opened up a harbor freight next to the hair cut place. so i went in there and drooled over an aluminum floor jack for awhile, too bad i'm broke. then came home and watchin some movies tonight. nothing truck related

Check out the new floor jack at Sams by Michilen. It has a quick lift feature that gets the jack up much quicker till it hits resistance, then it works like a regular jack. The one at Harbor frieght is cool looking, but this one is much cheaper, and works faster....

the one i was looking at there was the same way. it reaches max lift in 5 pumps i think. it was $129. how much is the one at sams?

i drove 400 miles yesterday to pick up a K30 dually. next weekend it will be raped of all usable parts, and cut into small pieces to cash in on the high price of scrap.

Friday---Worked half a day, came home, and started the cab swap.

Saturday---Cleaned my bedroom and the garage, finished gutting the cab, and washed my dad's Impala.

Sunday---Pulled the cab off the chassis using an engine hoist.

On Wednesday, the cab will be taken to the dump.

Spent Friday night giving the Blazer a tune up, didn't do much good, looks like a rebuild is next.
I had two repave jobs scheduled for Saturday, 1st was out in Sapulpa. We get there and the guy's deck is soaking wet, reschedule for next weekend. Go to the second one and her driveway is covered in dirt/mud, she's going to call when she gets her $h!t together. Now that the day is free, my wife & I decide to take the dogs to the lake. We took the top off the Blazer & went to Ft Gibson lake to let the dogs run around in the water. My Aussie was standing on the fenderwell in the back as we idled through a campground & fell out. Nothing hurts this dog, but he was scared. He pretty much layed low on the way back.
Yesterday we went to church with my Mom, then took my Mom & Mother-in-law out to lunch. After that I took my wife out to buy plants so she could make some hanging baskets. Mowed the yard when we got back & then ordered pizza for dinner.
Fun weekend even though it was busy. Got to take the Blazer out topless and see how many gas stations we could pass. Between my truck, the Blazer, and my wife's car, I dropped $100 on gas this weekend. I need to fill up my car too.
Oh well, Monday is here and I'm not ready for it.

Saturday pulled the dash out to re-wire the tach to try and fix the needle bounce. Well, that did not work.

Sunday washed the truck.

Went to a show at the Hooters in Lewisville and the wife got Second place.

Washed the crew-cab Saturday then took my wife out to a really nice dinner. Lobster tail, shrimp, steak, wine, and beer, mmmmmmmmm. $150.00 later we were full...

Sunday, parent-in-laws came down from Tennessee. We went to church and then out to lunch. After lunch we went on a hike to a local waterfall and played in the woods and creek for a while. Sunday evening, we went and had dinner with my parents.

Great weekend.

Your going to spend more in gas for the torch then the truck will bring scrap. Only going to get about $45.

Trucks are good. Mosly just drove the Jimmy around all weekend with the top off. Drove it to work Friday even. Sure going to mis that truck if it sells.

Worked on the Airstream a little Sat and Sunday. Put the A/C back in it only to have it pop breakers when I turned it on. Might be FUBAR. Don't have the case for a new RV roof A/C right now.

Did my best to talk Mrs reaper into putting on a bikini and washing the trucks so I could get some wax on the burb. didn't happen. hahaha

Sunday my Mom had us over for Mothers day and cooked us dinner. Probably take her and my wife out to dinner sometime this week. I had to sit on the cash in the bank waiting to see if this Tranny and case for another project I have would materialized. No such luck.

Since I don't have a garage I spent a lot of time waiting for the weather to change so I could go out and work on my truck. I'm finishing up a body and motor swap for a play truck. Finally had the weather to put bucket seats in and rig up a floor shifter from a Firebird.

when i bought my K10 and scrapped the cab i didnt think i was going to get much there either, i ended up getting $45 out of the cab alone. throw in a frame and a front clip (all separate of course, they pay more that way, plus some misc stuff i have laying around here, i'm sure i'll get a pretty good chunk of change.

Didn't get much truck stuff done. Closest I got was buying a replacement horn for the 96. Still laying on the back seat though .

Friday I had a final so I study mos t of the day for it. Serviced the wife's Bonneville.
Saturday I worked on couplke computer jobs. Still can't belive what people will click on on the web and get put on thier computers. I guess that's why QVC ( or whatever they are now) got so much.

My mom and mom in law aren't close enough to visit, so after wifie was celebrated, used the 82 to haul stump grindings and dirt. Man I gotta get this workshop done, so I can live to enjoy it

woke up at 6:15 and went to feed our bottle calves with my little sister fell asleep for about an hour. went upstairs and found out my mom and stepdad were fighting... sometimes i just want to choke him till his head pops off... later after i made sure mom was feeling better me and two of my friends drove about 360+ miles round trip to pick up a 72 SWB 4x4. felt bad for mom, she had a krappy day then todayshe got in a wreck in her trailblazer, so i baked her a cake and fed the calves and did some dishes and stuff so she won't have to do much when she gets home.

My dad and I finished the body work and completely repainted the bed, and the red on the doors, rockers, and front fenders. Tonight i put on my new wheels, ill get those pics tommarow.

It looks like you need to work on better back space. My buddy with the Rambler narrowed a S-10 rear end so his rear wheels would tuck. The front requires lots of back space to tuck....

I believe he just swapped the S-10 rear in-- no narrowing. The main thing was relocating the axle back (to stretch the wheelbase & center the wheels in the wheelwells). The backspace is the key.... it's critical to keep things from rubbing when you start getting that low.

the rear end had plenty of room to bounce around, but on the front when the wheels are turned and under a load, they will grab the fender a bit. like i said, its about time for some new rims haha. some 17'' tourq thrust twos!! btw i just got a new job that pays twice as much as before!! finally i can dump more money into the paint and wheels of the truck.
