Need a good, rust free set of rear bumper brackets for my 70 LWB - 1/2 ton 4x4...For a "Sport" bumper

Do you need an original set? I just bought front and back new brackets off a vendor at a swap meet. I can get you his contact info?

Yea..I saw a set of the repop ones....but they appeared kinda flimsy and not very stout at all.....I may have to go that route but I am hoping that someone comes through with an original set....

How do you figure they are flimsy? I was the one that provided the samples to have these reproduced and they are every bit as heavy as the originals. I have one of the originals here to compair them with. They even have the reinforcement plate welded in them just like the originals do.

Now for the problem that I see with them. When the manufacturer punches the enlongated bumper mounting holes in them, they make 2 humps that sit proud of the mounting hole itself. If you do not grind the humps down or use a washer for a spacer between the bracket and bumper, you will dimple the bumper when you tighten the bolts. WES

I agree that they are stout but I had issues with the SWB 4x4 set mounting and ended up with a 2WD set that should work...

Hmmmm... I used them on my 72 short box 4x4 and they fit fine. I test fitted them on both of my 4x4s short & long when they came out. No problems either ones. I couldn't get the 2x4 ones to work on my short box 4x4. WES

The ones I purchased are every bit as solid and thick as the original 2wd ones I took off???
