Hood Interchangeability, from 72 to 67.
Hello,
I have a complete 72 Chevy C10 pickup.. The problem is my hood. I need a new hood and would like to change it to the early 67-68 c10 hood. My questions are: How much frabrication is required for the hinges and/or hood to fit with 72 hinges and body. And is it possible or how much fab would it take to have the 67 hood but with a 72 grill bezel and grill? will they fit together? has this been done before? If this is already on a separate thread (which im sure it has) please reply with a link. Thanks for all your help!!! |

The back of the hood is all the same, hinges and all. The front is the problem.
If you truly want to use a 67/68 hood with a 69-72 grille you have a lot of cutting and welding to do (but it looks awesome!): http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...highlight=hood

If you decide to do it, make sure to take pics along the way and post them here. Many people want to do this job, but very few finish it

Re: Hood Interchangeability, from 72 to 67.
Thats a lot of work, forum member Rokcrln made a "How To" thread, check the link below. After I saw all the work involved I decided to buy a 68 because I would rather deal with a disc brake swap instead of all the work associated with the hood swap.
