16# Radiator cap ??

I've been using a 16 # radiator cap since I replaced the radiator and waterpump and hose's about 2 years ago . all of a sudden I am losing water out the over flow .
I replaced the cap with a new 16# and it still is doing it .

Any suggestions .
Thanks

How much water are you losing? Are you having to add?

Bill, 16# ought to be right - at least that's all I've ever used. Off the top of my head, what about a blown head gasket, allowing the engine to over-pressurize the cooling system?

Yes , I,ve had to add some water to top it off ,
Don't think it is a blown Head gasket , oil is ok and it isn't smoking and no anti freeze smell at the exhaust only when I stop after a long drive it leaks out the overflow hose .The Temp is always normal .

Just to clarify - do you have a recovery tank? Is it puking into the tank, or overflowing the tank, or no tank, or.... ?

Of course it needs to have a cap for a sealed system, but you were good for two years... wouldn't think you'd get a second bad one, but stranger things have happened.
