hey all,

We have had a few nice days around here so i figured i would bring the Money Pit out of the garage yesterday and try to do some fine tuning. it has been so nasty around here i haven't been able to get much work done because it's so damn cold outside

.

anyway, i had my father out there helping me( he's built quite a few engines, knows a lot more about this stuff than me)so after we got it tuned i told him to take it for a spin around the block, (no exhaust system whatsoever

) just in case anything acted up he would know what the problem was.

so we fired it up, let er warm up and adjusted the accel. pump(wasn't coming in quick enough) He took it to the end of our street, ratcheted the Megashifter down to 1st and HAMMERED it.

it just hazed the tires, he banged thorugh all 3 gears and the damn thing didn't stop spinning the tires till he let off the throttle.( i can tell right now im gonna be changing tires pretty often

) and this is all with 3.07 gears.

Talk about torque, the truck pulls like a freight train. ive had a permanent grin on my face since yesterday, its nice to know everything works.

to every body doing caddy BB swaps, you guys are in for quite a surprise

he used to own a 78 stepside chevy with a hopped up 454 and he said this truck made that one feel slow (he couldn't believe the torque) He had quite a grin on his face too! he was just speechless....

do any of you guys have a recommendation for a good set of mufflers, one shop i stopped by says they use Flo-Pro mufflers, anybody heard of them

I was also looking at the Dynomax Ultra Flo Race Magnums, or if you guys have any other ideas? this isn't going to be a Daily Driver so noise isn't a concern

I'm using Flowmaster 50 Series with a 2 3/4 inch inlet 3 inch outlet and a slash cut exiting right in front of the tire. I tried 40 series but that Cad just made too darned much noise through them. I love the sound.

muffler, whats that, i am runnign straight pipes and glass packs all the way back but soon i plan to run 4 inch pipes with 12 inch glass packs and then dump it behind the cab

anybody ever heard of the moroso spiral flo mufflers, ive seen them in summit but don't know what they sound like.

I dont have a caddy..but I did have a serious traction problem..I went with mickey thompson ET streets.....no more traction problems...except my wife might need traction for her neck(hehe)

ya, I have a extra set of tires out in my garage, they are Mickey Thompson Indy Profile SS's, have you ever run those or heard about them? they say they are pretty sticky once you get them hot, but they are track only tires(bias ply). The tires on the truck now are remington xt120 295-50-15's they wear like a rock but are kinda crappy for traction
