puffin white smoke.. help!
the passenger bank was rolling out a lot of white smoke and the driver was a little. it was mostly only doing at it idle then it would go down at higher RPM's. pretty sure the heads are good, but not positive. had a little condensation happen and got a little bit of water in the oil, it was only ran for a little before I noticed it, then replaced as soon as I could. could the piston rings be stuck or bad? heads? gasket? I have the engine all tore down right now so I can change anything out if I have to, any input would help!

Sounds like a head gasket that's allowing coolant to get into a cylinder.

Since you have the engine out: did you notice any areas of the head gaskets that looked damaged? Usually you can tell if there was a leak.
Also, since you have the engine torn down, take the heads and have them check to make sure they're not cracked and do a complete rework while in the shop. Save you a lot of problems later.

Are any of the pistons clean? That is a sure way to tell that coolant got into the combustion chamber. Antifreeze will wash the carbon off. Something to look for.

Dont forget to check the water passages between the intake and heads for a leak also.

crap, took the heads off and somehow a nut managed to get into the intake and blow a hole in the piston. scared the walls to, going to have to have it machined

I have white smoke coming out of my exhaust pipe as well. I believe it is the head gasket but never removed it before. Do i need to drain the oil before i remove my heads?

You don't have to drain the oil before pulling the heads but you will absolutely want to do it before you fire the engine after replacing the head gaskets.
