Transfer case wire help?

Today wile inspecting my truck i found a wire on top of the TC with a plug on the end. I figured out it was the wire that when u put it in 4wd the light on the dash come on saying so...but my problem is i cant find were it plugs into on the TC, so were does it plug into and is it easy to get to?


Also it wont go into neutral or 4lo?

Which transfer case do you have? I am guessing it's a part time np205. If so, there should be a 4wd indicator switch that has two prongs for the wires to connect to. This switch screws into the top of the transfer case. It kind of looks like a small oil pressure switch. If its a full time 203 the switch connects to the shift linkage bracket. I think the two wires that connect to it are black and white.

Yea the are black and white. Im not sure what kind of tc it is...

What is the shift pattern? An NP203 will be (from top to bottom) Lo Loc, Lo, Nuetral, Hi, Hi Loc. That is what mine is.

Then yes, the wires simply run to an indicator in you dash cluster to tell you I believe, when you are in 4wd low. At least that is how my 79 is.
