I am trying to remove my ignition switch. I don't have a key, nor do I have a door key. I am trying to remove the bezel and it just keeps turning.

HELP!

That lock cylinder has to come out for the bezel to be threaded off. But this does usually require a key w/ a paper clip or similar. Sounds like it may need drilled. Something I've had to do. Member LocDock may chime in with a better idea..

The first thing I would do is to pull the passengers door lock out and see if there is a code number stamped into it. If there is take it to a locksmith and have him cut you a key. If the locks are all original the key will fit the ignition. If you don't have a locksmith close PM me the code number and I will cut you a key and send it to you for 5 bucks. If there is no code number on it, the door lock can still be disassembled and de-coded to cut a key. The destructive methods would be a last resort for me.

Then you have a problem. Basically your only option is to drill it out. If you can get the lock cylinder out without damaging the switch you can re-use all of the parts. If you drill it just don't drill too deep. Put a piece of masking tape up about 3/4 -7/8 of an inch on the bit and don't go any deeper than that. Start with a small bit and work your way up, take it slow because it will want to grab.

I'm thinking 3/8". You will have to dig pieces out as you go.
