Steering wheels

I would like to keep the stock "look" of my '72 steering wheel but I also would like to have it not be 17 inches in diameter. Has anyone ever seen a "stock" wheel in a smaller dia??

Re: Steering wheels

No. But you are not the only one who would like to. I bought a stock re-pop and had a ring rolled at 15". Im going to cut off the 17" rim and weld this one on and have it upholstered in leather. Its been done before.

Re: Steering wheels

The 88-92 Steering wheels look good in these trucks......more comfortable to.

Re: Steering wheels

There was discussion a while back about how Chip Foose took the stock steering wheel and cut it down on the episode "Family Truckster". They did the same thing. Cut the inner part out, rolled a new, smaller diameter wheel, and welded trimmed inner part to the new wheel. It looked great when finished.
