drum to disk swap alignment question

My 70 c20 is getting disk brakes next week. The doner is a 72 c20.

1. How far can I drive the truck without an alignment?

2. When the alignment is done do I use the alignment spec for a 72 or a 70?

The repair manual I have states that the toe in for 70 should be
1/8-1/4. For 72 it states exactly 3/16.

thanks,

paul

Hey Paul, you should get an alignment as soon as possible. Are you changing just the spindle assembly, I believe you will need the drag link from the doner. maybe somebody will chime in. I'm not sure on the C20's but on the C10's you have too due to different tie rods.

Drag link is the center link that connets to both tie rods and is held in by the idler arm and steering arm, yes you need that from the doner

Thanks,

I took everything from the doner except the crossmember. So my 70 crossmember is identical to the 72 I hope? Any comments on that?
