Thats so ironic Trevor, you live in the city where most of our early Canadian GMC's were built. And now they are so few in Ontario.

Ya, our municipalities think that rock salt is the answer to our winter problems. They apply pure salt during a light snow so that they don't have to plow and so idiots that don't know how to drive won't have an accident.
What is really maddening, is when you go out west and see all these classics without rust and I can't keep an 88 without rust. P.S. GM Oshawa is still going strong and still producing many of the trucks. They now only make extended cab short box trucks though. Trevor

Actually, i agree, it does look nice. The bed can rust for years before it becomes an issue on that thing.

My stepfathers dad, who retired from GM in Michigan, has an old truck in his barn. I'm not particularly sure what year, because for one, it's his winter(and dragging cars out of mountain sides) truck. And Two, for all the different colors and everything I can't hardly tell what it is. I know the body isn't even bolted on, it just sits on wooden wedges. It has a little 283 in it, but it'll pull like a tank. I love that truck, well when it's not winter(no heat). It's nice and It's got a wrecker ass on it, did they make these??? I'm a little stupified today, I'm excited I'm spending the weekend with my girl except for working. So sorry if I don't make sense.

There's a few of them around here in Pa too. They're hauling coal for the most part. Yuengling beer used to have some with a longer box to haul beer in too. Found one in a junk yard this past summer.

join the club man, her ein central il the city runs out the 2 ton dumpo trucks all over the city to dump salt on all roads even with slightest bit of ice or snow, rust rust rust, population of most any vehicle from mid 70;s and older is literally gone unless is brought from somwhere with drier warmer air weather climate. are quite a few 1.5 and 2 ton 67-72 left around here- land of agriculture totally in every way, most are grain trucks and some are really olong flatbeds and some are tow trucks and some are water tankers and some are scrap yard trucks and some are lumber yard delivery trucks, majority of them get to live in nice dry sheds and barns since were brand new and never see rain or snow and are absolutely 100% mint shape, and some 1 tons too, saw a 69 or 70 cherry red original paint(not faded to chalk orange like usually seen) 1 ton dump i about wrecked the car on curve when i spotted that about four days ago, rarely see a 1 ton 67-about 80 on road let lone in 100% mint shape, i didnt stop even though i go by the place all the time and is only about 1.5 mile away, i wou8ldnt be able to control myself if i got out to lookat it up close. i would just die and never want to walk away from it,... sniff* the most memorable spotting of 67-72 C50 was a light green 68 one that was totally identical to my first 67-72 truck ever, a light green 68 C-10 longfleet, same identical even down to style and color of seat, not a single flaw or blemish in interior whatsoever, as is same as with most of these old big trucks, i got to get in it and check it all out and everything, sniff* i'll never forget it.,,., i hope i can find that truck again, i bet i can,, its around here somewhere, WILL buy it if i have the cash on hand at the time fr damn sure! never see them, in salvage yards ever, they dotn have enough mileage on them unless the tree cutter guys get a hold of them and wreck them, i saw a GMC C50 get completely flip over on a grade and completely burn up into ashes totally,. 307 4 speed 2 ton longggg grain bed truck completely wasted becaus eof a moron who cant load trees correctly drive loaded down truck on a grade correctly,. i have a pic of the aftermath somewhere here,, i have seriously thought about and stil think about saving up a few bucks and just picking up a C50 or 60 from around here off some old farme,r they sell chepa and are perfect shape low miles i could get themn for 1500 a pop all day long if i wanted some,. but theyre so damn big though... daily driver C60, hmmmm...... tat 68 C50 green one, hmmmm! am i lying when i say that im not sickly insanely addicted to GM truck in no way ? too bad are never any smaller version 67-72 left to get hold of that are totally rusted scrap junkers,. oh well.... life is odd alot... good luck. |

I saw a c50 once with a fleetside box on it it looked awsome. It also had original buckets, full guages and a original 427. I almost cream myself thinking about it
