Re: headliner trim question...
Been a while since I've done it, but there's some phillips head screws you take out, and it will practically fall in your lap.

Re: headliner trim question...
Good luck. I have never had one fall into my lap. I think there are about 16 tabs into the roof. Take your time and try to work from one side and pulling from the other. If you are lucky, you may save half of them. 40 year old plastic gets brittle.
Get some pics up of your find...

do they (tabs) point inwards or outwards? this make sense? i assume i need to push tabs away from windsheild and back glass.

Re: headliner trim question...
The tabs are in pairs pointing away from each other. I can put a pic up later.

Re: headliner trim question...
Here is what you will have to deal with. There are rectangle holes in the roof that these snap into. Good luck!

Re: headliner trim question...
If you just try to pry them out you will break tabs. I took and old pair of pliers and spot welded a small 1/2'' x 1/2'' piece of sheet metal on each side so I could gently squeeze them under the trim and apply pressure from both sides and pulled down easy at the same time.I still break one every now and then.
