I have a 72 s/b fleetside that I would like to install a hard flush type cover on. Anyone have a name of a company that makes them? Thanks

Gaylords. Best quality, you just have to peel the name off the back.

For hard covers it's the only one. Bring $$$ as they're expensive. I think about $700 -$1000. For soft covers, alot of companies make them. $200 -$400.

Welcome to the forum. Right now Gaylord is the only one still making hard tonneaus for 67-72s. They are real nice! $1,100 in primer plus shipping.

They are fiberglass. The new ones don't have the black seal showing. Mine is thirteen yrs old.

Some may have begun calling bed covers tonneaus,but a tonneau is a removable fabric cover for a bed,roadster interior,etc. They were first used for topless vehicles and pickup beds later. Gaylords is the mack daddy of bed covers...quality-plus

I don't think they make this one any more but I have one and absolutely love it. It looks great and seals up super.

That is the one I was looking for. But like you said. It is not made anymore. I looked at a lot of sites and no one makes one like it.

Have any of you tried one of those that roll up at the front of the bed? I've seen them on newer trucks and they look pretty nice. Id like to have one when I'm in the city so I wouldn't have to throw any valuables in the cab when I park but also be able to use my bed for larger objects. Kinda tough to do if you have a solid cover.

I might have to look for some interlocking aluminum extrusions and make one! I played around with some small scale roll up sheets, I got a chunk of plywood, glued some 1/8" rubber to the back then ran the top through my table saw set deep enough to almost cut through the wood. It worked great but I couldn't get it to roll up small enough to be useable in full scale.

I got around $60 in mine,made it a year ago seals good and is lockable I spent as much on the lock/handle as I did the other materials.
