Re: V-12 going into a '62
Great torque motors, somewhere around 580 ft/lbs @ 2000 rpm. But the dang thing weighed almost 1500 pounds!!! GMC used them in larger trucks from 60-65, but there are still a bunch running water pumps night and day.

Nice square tube pipes! If I had a nice one layning around like that I'd be trying to stuff it into anything with 4 wheels.

This guy started his thread in the 88-98 section but ended up putting it in a 62 because he couldn't find anything big enough. |

Re: V-12 going into a '62
If you want a V12 then go for a Jaguar V12, much better. I've seen one stuffed into a series II landrover, they had to widen the whole thing as they are big engines.

Re: V-12 going into a '62
From what I've read...those GMC V12's lay down some crazy torque, but are a bit impractical for anything that will spend any amount of time on a modern freeway.
If I were to go through the fabrication work to shoe-horn a V12 into my C10 I'd get a screamin' monster like this..... 1000 Horsepower & 850 ft.-lbs. of torque!

I know a guy here in Iowa that builds The Best Allisons. They are pretty sweet. But not as sweet as the Rools Royces.

There are bigger stronger V12's, but NOTHING sounds cooler than a 12V-71TT 2 stroke Detroit Diesel!!!

I don't know why, but you have to click the words "Youtube - Truck Puller - Big Red Express" to make the video work.
