Here is my new project/daily driver

My friend found this truck on craigslist last night. I went over today and picked it up. I think I may have paid a little too much for it but there do not seem to be any of these "For Sale" around here. Ok anyway. It is a 1969 K10 4x4, 4 speed with a rockwell tcase. It has some so so 35''s on it with some modular wheels. It is supposed to have a 327 in it with a performer intake and edelbrock carb.. It seems to run pretty good. I can't drive it because something is broken. I think the tcase. is junk. It is making loud clunking noises and it is slipping and grinding but will move forward. It will clunk and move in reverse way better than forward. The body needs help as all these midwest trucks seem to. The box is dented up but not much rust. The cab is rusty and will need a lot of love. Same with the front clip. I do have another grill shell, bumper, and head light trim rings. I am thinking it will need a wiring harness and new gauges to get her driving again, without a lot of headaches. I want to make this my daily driver for winter.

Re: Here is my new project/daily driver

I almost called on that one, but don't want a 4wd. Cab rust appears to be pretty easy to fix, as long as it's not in the roof!

I'm still going to do that but I am currently without a shop. It is coming by truck soon. I figuired this would be a good truck to get back into the 67-72 era faster than the longhorn. And now I am thinking of repainting the longhorn when I do it.

The same guy has a 67 or 68 short box step side that needs finished. The body is sweet on it. I mean no rust and the box is very nice. He said $2500 for that one. It is a 2wd C10.

Let us know how that "no headache" plan is going once you start working on her!

Looks great, keep us posted.

It won't be that bad. I have had worse I had to drive and they were junk clunker cars. Atleast these trucks look good sitting on the side of the road!

I wonder if the yellow guages are factory. Should be fun to drive around in.

Yeah, the yellow gauges have got to go. Along with the other stoner induced yellow and jimmy rigging on the truck!

Yeah there is another sweet option! The guy before the PO has mangled up the dash. I may have to section a piece in if I can't get it straightened up. Some people should not be able to have tools, let alone touch them.
