Baggin the rear on my 66 ???
So I am new to the board.. Here is my introduction post..... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=331302
I tore the bed off my truck today so I could start on my rear step notch... So my question with the rear air ride setup is I see guys air out and laying sheet metal using the rear stock control arms with bags. Is there a issue with binding going that route? I was thinking of going this route.... So anyone laying sheet metal on here with the stock suspension in the rear with a step notch? Thanks for any input or info....... six5..... Re: Baggin the rear on my 66 ???
this may help. If you're gonna use the stock trailing arms, your gonna have to cut the frame pretty close to the back of the cab. Spend a little time with the search feature and you'll find all your questions answered.
And, welcome to the board.

Re: Baggin the rear on my 66 ???
Bill thanks for the link and welcome. I actually found that link and many others but it's not what I was looking for. So maybe a common C notch and stock rear control arms do not work. I will stick with my original plan of the two link with pan hard bar...... Thanks.......

I think PrerunnerRob had done his truck with a step notch using the stock trailing arms(with quite a bit of modification) before deciding to crew cab it and change the entire setup. Try using the search.

I think you will have to step it, but the stock control arms will work if you use a block also. In the suspension section I just read some stuff about people making blocks with mild steel and aluminum to get a couple extra inches.
I think the panhard may be more of an issue than the trailing arms.
